Throw a Duskfield and declare the ground yours. Allies who stand in it gain Frost Armor, enemies who wander in deal reduced damage, and anything that lingers stacks slow toward a freeze. This is the most literal "stand here and you will live" button a Hunter owns — a portable safe room you re-throw before the last one fades.
The exotic
Depths of Duskfield: Your Duskfield grenades have a much larger effect radius. Allies inside the Duskfield gain Frost Armor and targets inside the area deal reduced damage.
Renewal Grasps turns a single grenade into a defensive dome. The Clarity data pins the numbers: the Duskfield radius grows by 25%, a Medium Stasis crystal spawns in the centre, you and every ally receive one stack of Frost Armor on entering the Slowing Field plus more for every 0.5 seconds spent inside, and enemies caught in the field deal 50% (20% in PvP) decreased damage. That is both halves of a survivability formula in one cast — your damage resistance climbs while the enemy's output collapses. The crystal is free shatter fodder, and because the field slows everything inside, targets that refuse to leave eventually freeze. The gauntlets ask only that you commit to a spot; everything else the Duskfield does for you.

Why it works (the mechanics)
Damage resistance and enemy-damage-down multiply. Frost Armor's stacking DR applies to you while the field's 50% damage penalty applies to everything shooting into it. Two independent multipliers stacking inside one zone reach survivability that normal buff stacking cannot, so lethal room mechanics become chip damage as long as you hold the dome.
The field is a self-feeding Frost Armor generator. You gain a stack on entry and another every 0.5 seconds inside; Grim Harvest converts Stasis shards into more stacks; Whisper of Rime raises the maximum stack count and duration. Standing your ground builds armour where leaving bleeds it, which is exactly what a fortress build wants.
Slow escalates into a freeze, and freezes shatter. Everything lingering in the field stacks slow toward a freeze, and shattering a frozen target stuns Unstoppable Champions. Whisper of Durance lengthens that slow so targets tip into the freeze faster — the bunker punishes both staying and leaving.
Whisper of Shards makes the bunker self-funding. The Touch of Winter crystal (and any Headstone crystal) shatters for a grenade recharge boost, so in active combat the next Duskfield is charging before the current one expires — champion rooms become a relay of overlapping safe zones.
Grim Harvest recycles incoming fire into class ability. Taking damage while you have Frost Armor generates class ability energy, so the harder the room hits the dome, the faster Gambler's Dodge returns — refreshing Withering Blade and a Winter's Shroud slow on demand.
Chains closes the shard loop. Whisper of Chains gives a chance to create a Stasis shard on kills while armoured; those shards feed straight back into Grim Harvest's Frost Armor and Served Cold's class-ability refund, keeping every resource in the build topped from combat alone.
Stats & mods
Grenade 200 → Health → Class. Lean Demolitionist (Grenade/Class) for raw bunker uptime, or Siegebreaker (Health/Grenade) if you want the dome even tankier.
Mods:
Boots: Recuperation — refill health on Orb pickup between throws.
Arms: Grenade Kickstart ×2 — claw grenade energy back on cast for faster re-seats.
Chest: a resist mod (e.g. Concussive Dampener) — layer flat DR under the Frost Armor.
Class item: Bomber — grenade energy on every dodge, feeding the bunker off your class ability.
Surge: Stasis Surge — weapon damage to match the shatter/Headstone kit.
Anti-Champion: shatter frozen targets to stun Unstoppable intrinsically; bring Barrier/Overload weapon frames or the season's champion mods for the rest.
Wind Chill — rapid Stasis weapon hits grant Frost Armor, and hits on slowed or frozen targets create a Stasis shard, feeding Grim Harvest directly from your primary.
Crystalline Converter — after your class ability, the next Stasis final blow makes a shard, so every dodge funds the shard loop the bunker runs on.
Frost Renewal — while armoured, taking critical damage bursts a freeze and refreshes Frost Armor for you and nearby allies: the dome bites back exactly when it is under fire.
Hail The Storm — shattering frozen targets and crystals deals increased damage and releases slowing shards, pairing with the Touch of Winter/Headstone crystals.
Curative Orbs + Served Cold — shield breaks make Orbs for health and Armor Charge upkeep, while Stasis shard pickups return class ability energy, refunding the next Duskfield/dodge.
Brain Freeze — frozen combatants fog the area and slow anything nearby, turning each freeze into an expanding zone of denial around the bunker.
Where it shines
High-density survival content (GMs, master Lost Sectors, boss stand-and-hold phases) where owning a fixed patch of floor beats mobility.
Team play — the Frost Armor and enemy-damage-down apply to allies inside the dome, so it is a genuine support anchor, not just a selfish tank build.
Champion coverage: frozen shatter stuns Unstoppable intrinsically (via Touch of Winter/Headstone crystals and Hail The Storm); bring Barrier and Overload weapon frames or the season's champion mods to complete the set, since the picked artifact mods do not cover them.
