Verglas arrows plant Large Stasis crystals; shatter the field for Stasis shards, scoop them for Frost Armor, and that Frost Armor both juices Verglas's Stasis damage and arms a shatter-on-kill. Fr0st-EE5's sprint loop doubles grenade and melee regen and floods class-ability energy, so Duskfield and Withering Blade come back to reseed before the field stops shattering. One bow, one pair of legs, infinite ice.
The exotic
Fr0st-EE5 — Rapid Cooldown (Leg Armor, verbatim):
Increases grenade, melee, and dodge regeneration while sprinting.
>
Gain stacks of Frost Armor while sprinting. When you have Frost Armor, Stasis weapons deal additional damage.
Verglas Curve (Combat Bow, the dual-exotic partner, verbatim):
Hail Storm: Direct hits with Stasis arrows freeze combatants and slow opposing Guardians. Stasis arrows that impact the environment create Stasis crystals.
>
Hail Barrage: Final blows with this weapon grant Stasis arrows. Your next hip-fire shot will fire all of them in a single volley.
>
Shiver Quiver (catalyst): Freezing or slowing a target grants this weapon faster draw speed for a short period of time.
A dual-exotic loadout is legal — one armour piece plus one weapon — and these two interlock. Verglas plants the Large Stasis crystals and freezes packs on direct hits; shattering those crystals drops Stasis shards. Fr0st-EE5 turns sprinting into Frost Armor, and while you hold Frost Armor every Stasis weapon (Verglas included) hits harder, so the bow's damage and its own crystal-seeding scale off the armour. The legs' real value is the regen pump: sprint after a dodge and grenade, melee and class-ability energy all pour back, refunding the abilities that reseed and re-shatter the field. Verglas's catalyst keeps draw speed fast whenever something is frozen or slowed — which, in this build, is constantly.
Loadout
Slot
Pick
Why
Subclass
Revenant (Stasis)
Native home of Frost Armor, Stasis crystals and the freeze/shatter verbs the whole loop runs on.
Super
Silence and Squall
Squall's roaming storm slows and freezes a whole pack, instantly seeding frozen targets for Verglas to crystallise and feeding the freeze-shatter-shard loop wholesale.
Class ability
Gambler's Dodge
The dodge is Fr0st-EE5's trigger — it grants the sprint buff and tops class regen, and dodging near enemies refunds Withering Blade. (Marksman's Dodge if you'd rather instant-reload Verglas.)
Movement
Triple Jump
Air control to reposition between reseeds; jump choice is preference and does not touch the loop.
Melee
Withering Blade
Ricocheting Stasis shuriken — slows and freezes for Verglas direct-hit value and can shatter the crystal field. Fr0st-EE5 doubles its regen while sprinting.
Grenade
Duskfield
With Touch of Winter: a larger slow-field plus a Stasis crystal on impact — a second crystal seeder. Fr0st-EE5's doubled regen plus Whisper of Shards make it the primary reseeder.
Aspect 1
Grim Harvest
The engine: picking up Stasis shards grants Frost Armor; with Frost Armor up, Stasis/Kinetic kills may shatter; taking damage with Frost Armor returns class-ability energy.
Aspect 2
Touch of Winter
Enhances Duskfield (bigger field plus a crystal on impact). More crystals = more shatters = more shards = more Frost Armor. (Shatterdive for on-demand detonation; Winter's Shroud for dodge-slow.)
Fragments
Rending / Shards / Fissures / Conduction
Verglas buff + reseed accelerant + bigger shatters + shard tracking that guarantees the Frost Armor refresh.
Exotic armour
Fr0st-EE5 (Legs)
The regen pump and the Frost Armor source; while you hold Frost Armor, Stasis weapons (Verglas) deal additional damage.
Weapons
Verglas Curve (Kinetic) · Chill Clip Stasis special (e.g. Riptide) · flex Stasis heavy
Bow seeds and shatters; Chill Clip special slows then freezes for champion teeth; a Stasis heavy rides the Frost-Armor damage buff for boss phases.
Fragments
Whisper of RendingPrimary-ammo weapons do increased damage to Stasis crystals and frozen targets — a straight Verglas buff
Whisper of Shardsshattering a crystal boosts grenade recharge, stacking per crystal — the reseed accelerant
Whisper of Fissuresbigger, harder shatter bursts
Whisper of Conductionnearby Stasis shards track to you → guarantees Grim Harvest's Frost Armor refresh; +10 Super, +10 Health). Net stat delta +10 Super / +10 Health. Alternates: Whisper of Rime (Frost Armor duration + max stacks → 8 stacks / 13s
Whisper of ChainsFrost-Armor kills can drop a shard; +10 Class
Why it works (the mechanics)
The crystal-shatter loop is closed by the two exotics alone. A Verglas arrow plants a Large Stasis crystal (Hail Storm); shatter it — Verglas itself does +50% to crystals, or pop it with Withering Blade, Shatterdive or Squall — and the shatter drops Stasis shards. Grim Harvest turns shard pickup into Frost Armor. Frost Armor makes Verglas hit harder (Fr0st-EE5) and lets Grim Harvest shatter on Stasis/Kinetic kills, so the next body-shot detonates the next crystal. Self-feeding.
Fr0st-EE5 is the regen pump, not just a stat stick. Every dodge triggers the 10s sprint window; sprinting doubles grenade and melee regen and pours +100% [200%] base class-ability regen in. That is what brings Duskfield (reseed) and Withering Blade (shatter) back before the field goes quiet — the reason the loop never stalls. The multiplicative regen is applied after additive modifiers, so the legs carry uptime regardless of stat ceiling.
Two independent crystal seeders. Verglas arrows and Touch-of-Winter Duskfield both plant crystals, and Squall freezes whole packs for Verglas to crystallise. You are never short of crystals to shatter, so Frost Armor stacks stay topped and the Stasis-damage buff stays live.
Frost Armor is generated three ways. Sprinting (Fr0st-EE5), shard pickup (Grim Harvest), and the artifact (Wind Chill / Frost Renewal). Layered generation makes Frost Armor near-permanent — a permanent Stasis-damage buff on Verglas plus permanent damage resistance.
Whisper of Shards short-circuits the reseed. Each crystal you shatter spikes grenade recharge (+500% [150%] base grenade regen for up to 11s, stacking per crystal). Stacked with Fr0st-EE5's doubled grenade regen, Duskfield is back almost as fast as you can throw it — the cheapest way to keep new crystals on the floor.
Served Cold re-arms the trigger. The artifact's Served Cold turns shard pickup into class-ability energy, so the same shards that grant Frost Armor also refund Gambler's Dodge — closing the loop that fires Fr0st-EE5's sprint window again.
Stats & mods
Grenade 200 → Class → Weapons. Grenade 200 is the fastest Duskfield reseed (the loop's fuel); Class keeps Gambler's Dodge — Fr0st-EE5's trigger — on a short leash; Weapons' first 100 carries the PvE damage and handling bump for Verglas. Archetype lean: chase Demolitionist (Grenade/Class) and Grenadier rolls, and put the Tier-5 Fr0st-EE5 in whichever archetype best tops your weakest priority. Shift ~20 from Super/Health into Melee if you lean on Withering Blade to shatter.
Mods:
Boots: Innervation (Orb pickup → grenade energy) + Recuperation for health on the same pickups.
Wind Chill — rapid Stasis-weapon hits grant Frost Armor, and hits on slowed or frozen targets also create a Stasis Shard. Verglas does both at once, so it mints Frost Armor and shards just by firing into the field.
Crystalline Converter — after a class ability, a Stasis-weapon final blow drops a shard; banked shards make your next powered Stasis melee spawn crystals, turning Withering Blade into a crystal-planter.
Hail The Storm — the keystone: shattering frozen targets and Stasis crystals deals increased damage and throws off slowing shards, amplifying the core action and feeding Grim Harvest.
Frost Renewal + Debilitating Wave — Frost Renewal is the panic button (crit damage with Frost Armor freezes nearby foes and grants more Frost Armor); Debilitating Wave makes finishers emit a Stasis wave that slows, since the Super is Stasis.
Served Cold + Brain Freeze — Served Cold turns shard pickup into class-ability energy, directly refuelling Fr0st-EE5's dodge trigger; Brain Freeze surrounds frozen targets with chilling fog that slows neighbours, widening the freeze so more enemies crystallise. Audited clean (2/3/2).
Where it shines
Add-dense PvE — endless reseed-and-shatter clears packs while Frost Armor keeps you tanky; Squall handles room-wide freezes.
Grandmaster sustain — layered Frost Armor generation plus Grim Harvest's damage-to-class-energy return gives constant DR and ability uptime without standing still.
Boss damage is the weak spot — Verglas is an add-clear engine, so lean on the flex Stasis heavy for major/boss phases (it still rides the Frost-Armor Stasis-damage buff).
Champion coverage: this artifact set carries no slotted anti-champion mod. Coverage is Stasis CC — Withering Blade, Duskfield and Verglas freeze stun Unstoppable, the Chill Clip special's slow stuns Overload. For guaranteed stuns or Barrier, swap Brain Freeze → Kinetic Impacts (the set's Tier-3 Unstoppable) and slot a Kinetic GL, or bring a flex weapon with an intrinsic breaker.
