Punch once, then let your loadout do the reloading. A powered melee or finisher grants Nightmare Fuel, every stowed weapon refills from reserves, and the fresh gun you draw hits harder. You stop playing reload animations and start playing a rotation of loaded, buffed weapons, all under a permanent Weaken from your tether.
The exotic
Sealed Ahamkara Grasps (Gauntlets) — Powered melee and finisher final blows grant Nightmare Fuel, increasing handling and airborne effectiveness. While active, freshly drawn weapons deal additional damage and grant Nightmare Fuel on final blows. Gaining Nightmare Fuel reloads all holstered weapons.
Nightmare Fuel lasts 7 seconds and triggers off any powered-melee kill or finisher (grapple melees do not count). The instant it is gained, every stowed weapon's magazine refills from reserves, so a single Snare Bomb kill leaves three loaded guns waiting. Readying a different weapon refreshes the timer and grants a 35% Empowering damage buff to that weapon; its own kills re-grant Fuel, so the melee only has to start the engine. Fuel also hands you +50 Airborne Effectiveness and bonus handling while active. The core verb is the draw: kill, swap to a loaded and buffed weapon, kill again — reload time, the biggest hidden tax on sustained fire, simply disappears.

Why it works (the mechanics)
"Freshly drawn" turns swapping into a damage perk. Readying a different weapon after gaining Nightmare Fuel grants that weapon a 35% Empowering buff and refreshes the 7-second timer. The optimal pattern is kill → swap → kill: each gun arrives with a full magazine (the holster refill) and a damage bonus, so one punch cashes out as boosted, loaded guns rather than a reload.
Fuel extends itself through weapons. The intrinsic says freshly drawn weapons "grant Nightmare Fuel on final blows," so buffed-weapon kills re-grant Fuel. The melee only needs to start the engine, not run it — the build survives long gaps between punches as long as the guns keep killing.
Holster refill deletes the worst DPS tax. Reload time is most of a sustained-fire rotation; gaining Fuel refills every stowed magazine from reserves at once, so cycling weapons replaces reloading entirely. That is uptime you would otherwise spend staring at an animation, bought with zero perk slots.
The tether puts a Weaken floor under every magazine. Deadfall and Vortex (with Echo of Undermining) keep packs Weakened, so the buffed mags land into a damage-amp debuff and Stylish Executioner reads the debuff as its invis trigger — kills on tethered targets vanish you between swaps.
The Void loop self-sustains. Snare Bomb and Trapper's Ambush grant Devour and invis; Echo of Leeching starts regen on melee kills; Echo of Persistence stretches all three Void buffs. Nightstalker keeps you alive and unseen while the weapon economy does the damage.
Finishers double as the trigger. Nightmare Fuel procs off finishers as well as melee kills, so in finisher-economy content you can open with a finish → Fuel → three loaded guns → vanish → repeat, without spending the grenade or melee at all.
Stats & mods
Melee 200 → Weapons → Class. Skirmisher lean (Melee/Weapons) with a Powerhouse tilt — you want melee back fast to keep Fuel live and weapon stats high for the buffed magazines, with Class supporting dodge uptime.
Mods:
Boots: Innervation / Absolution — ability energy on Orb pickup to keep dodge and Snare Bomb rolling.
Arms: Melee Kickstart — refunds melee energy on hit so the Fuel trigger is always close.
Chest: Resist mods matched to the activity (Void/Arc/Solar) for survivability between swaps.
Class item: Bomber / Utility Kickstart — faster dodge, the melee refund on Gambler's Dodge.
Surge: Weapon Surge matching your primary damage weapon's element for the buffed magazines.
Anti-Champion: none from the artifact picks — cover champions with weapon frames (see below).
Power From Pain grants Devour and creates a Void Breach on rapid final blows against weakened combatants — the tether/Vortex Weaken floor makes this fire constantly, closing the Weaken → Devour → Breach loop.
Total Carnage gives damage resistance and a heal after finishing a powerful combatant, rewarding the same finisher that grants Nightmare Fuel.
Void Renewal lets Devour-active Void weapon kills generate Void Breaches off the three buffed magazines, and picking a Breach up boosts reload and handling.
Debilitating Wave makes finishers emit a Void wave that Weakens (matching Deadfall's element), extending the debuff floor without a Super cast.
Curative Orbs turns shield breaks — plentiful when three loaded guns punch into a pack — into Orbs of Power for Armor Charge and ability energy.
Supernova makes a picked-up Breach turn your next Void hit into a large weakening pulse, re-applying Weaken; Old God's Rite then rains seeking projectiles from Void weapon damage after a Breach, for hands-off add-clear.
Where it shines
Sustained-DPS and boss damage. The holster refill plus a 35% swap buff is a real uptime and damage gain in any encounter where you fire for a long time.
Add-dense endgame (GMs, master content). Deadfall's Weaken, Devour sustain and invis chains keep you alive while Old God's Rite and Supernova clear the trash.
Finisher-economy activities. Finishers alone can drive the whole Nightmare Fuel loop, pairing with finisher-focused mods.
Champion coverage: the artifact grants no intrinsic anti-champion among these picks (Slayer Baron's Unstoppable comes from Kinetic Impacts, a Grenade Launcher T3 mod not taken here). Bring champion-capable weapon frames — Barrier/Overload/Unstoppable from your three-gun kit — since Weaken from the tether stuns nothing on its own.
