Consume the whole mag into one fat round, draw, and delete. Izanagi's is the original "charge-up sniper" — four-bullet Honed Edge with the catalyst is a single-shot damage spike that punches through Barrier shields intrinsically. The build's job is to feed that one shot: freeze the target to debuff it, draw the weapon for Sealed Ahamkara's fresh-draw damage bonus, fire, and let the exotic auto-reload the consumed mag from the holster so the next Honed Edge is already loaded. Snipe, freeze, snipe.

Hold reload to consume the magazine; each consumed bullet ramps the loaded round (Honed Edge 1→4). At four bullets — only reachable with the catalyst's Peerless Edge boost making it worthwhile — you fire a single Kinetic Special round with massively increased damage, the highest single-trigger-pull burst of any Special weapon in the game. It is the genre's reference boss-DPS sniper. Anti-Champion 2.0: Izanagi's carries a bespoke Barrier stun — the Honed Edge round pierces and stuns Barrier champions without any artifact mod. That's the build's intrinsic champion answer.

Why this works (the mechanics)
Sealed Ahamkara closes Izanagi's one weakness — the reload. Honed Edge consumes the entire magazine, so after each big shot Izanagi is empty. Sealed Ahamkara's "Gaining Nightmare Fuel reloads all holstered weapons" refills the consumed mag for free while you're working with another weapon — so the next time you draw Izanagi, Honed Edge is already chargeable. The classic Izanagi pain (manually reloading four rounds between every shot) disappears.
The fresh-draw bonus stacks onto the Honed Edge spike. Sealed Ahamkara: "While active, freshly drawn weapons deal additional damage." You draw Izanagi for the priority target → that draw already carries a damage bonus → then you fire the 4x Honed Edge round on top. Two multipliers (fresh-draw + Peerless Edge) land on the single biggest hit.
Nightmare Fuel is self-sustaining off the Stasis kit. Powered-melee and finisher final blows grant Nightmare Fuel. Withering Blade is a powered melee kept charged by Gambler's Dodge (refunds melee on dodge near enemies) and the Heavy Handed mod (melee energy on melee kills), so the freeze loop is the Nightmare-Fuel generator — which is what reloads holstered Izanagi. (Grim Harvest's shards grant Frost Armor, not melee — the melee comes from the dodge/mod, not the pickup.) The subclass feeds the exotic feeds the weapon.
Freeze is a debuff multiplier on the snipe. Duskfield (Touch of Winter) freezes the target → frozen targets take the Whisper-of-Rending primary-ammo bonus, and the freeze stun means the priority just stands there for the charged shot. Honed Edge + frozen + fresh-draw is a one-trigger miniboss/ champion kill.
Whisper of Hedrons makes the slow weapon feel fast. Freezing a target grants weapon handling — directly cutting Izanagi's ADS and the Honed Edge charge feel — plus a health bump for the moment you're scoped and exposed. You froze the target to snipe it, so Hedrons is always up when you draw.
Champions covered without spending the build. Izanagi's intrinsic Barrier stun is free (no artifact mod), and Stasis freeze stuns Overload and locks down everything else. Between the weapon and the subclass the build self-covers Barrier + Overload; Unstoppable falls to the Heavy archetype or a shatter.
Stats & mods
Weapons 200 → Health 100+ → Class. Weapons is the priority — it raises PvE weapon damage vs minors/majors on top of Honed Edge, and the build lives and dies on the sniper. Class feeds Gambler's Dodge (reload + melee refund); Health is the survivability floor while scoped.
Mods:
Helmet: Sniper/Kinetic targeting and ADS handling; Hands-On if you want Super off Silence and Squall hits.
Gauntlets: Sniper Loader (faster manual reloads when Sealed Ahamkara hasn't ticked) · Heavy Handed (melee energy on melee kills → more Withering Blade → more Nightmare Fuel).
Chest: Sniper Reserves so you actually have ammo to feed Honed Edge; flat elemental resist.

Where it shines
Boss / miniboss DPS: the reason Izanagi exists. One Honed Edge round + fresh-draw + frozen-debuff is the highest single-shot Special spike available; Sealed Ahamkara reloads it for the next window for free.
GM / endgame Barrier champions: the Honed Edge round pierces and stuns Barrier intrinsically — no artifact mod spent, and it one-shots most champions outright after the freeze.
Overload/everything else: Stasis freeze (Duskfield/Withering Blade/Squall) stuns Overload and CCs the room while you charge.
Add-clear gap is the Stasis primary + Whisper of Fissures shatters — the build isn't a horde-clearer, it's a delete-the-priority kit with the room held on ice.
